The SV Temple Youth Program in Pittsburgh offers weekly religious and language classes for children of ages 3 to 18 years. As part of our spiritual and religious classes, we cover prayers and bhajans, and also include discussions about our religion and culture. We also conduct a pre-SAT class for school students for preparation for the SAT exam.

Pre-SAT classes 9th/10th grade

Our classes are held at the SV Temple, Pittsburgh on Sundays from 9.30 AM to Noon. The classes run between Labor Day and Memorial Day and are conducted by volunteers at the temple campus. The last Sunday before Memorial Day is our Annual Day where students perform on-stage some of the prayers and themes they have learned in class.

Classes in our temple are FREE since we are fully supported by the SV Temple, except for the purchase of any required text books. Even though you do not have a monthly or annual financial commitment, we value your commitment by ensuring regular attendance of your child. Our religious classes, combined with language classes (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Sanskrit), provide a good opportunity for our youth to learn about their religion and culture.

Age ranges are provided only as a guideline and children may be in different classes depending on individual skill, maturity and comfort level. Consequently, you will see an overlap between the age groups across the classes. We believe that children and parents should be comfortable at each learning level and will work with the parents to determine which group may be best appropriate for the child, but leave the final decision to the family.

Hope your child enjoys the learning experience and we appreciate involvement and volunteering of parents who can contribute to the learning experience.
